Georges Essama

Senior Manager- Head of Marketing, Communication & Customer Experience Department

Georges Essama is an experienced public service worker, with 12 years in the telecommunication industry and public organizations. He is the First Certified Customer Experience Professional (CCXP) in Cameroon and Central Africa. Director at the board of the Customer Experience Professional Association (CXPA), a global body of more than 3000 Customer Experience professionals advocating for human centricity in service provided by all organizations.

He leads The Customer Experience, Marketing and Communication team at Cameroon Telecommunications, where he's in charge of implementing various CX transformation programs. He created The Service Foundation, a NGO dedicated to support the transformation and advancement of the service culture and leadership for service in the society. He focuses specially on improving public governance through government efficiency and human centricity. 

What makes Georges special is his passion for Customer Experience in public organization and his ambition to transform public service in African organizations to drive economic prosperity and shared growth. He has initiated the New Public Service Initiative, a program dedicated to support government and public organizations in building a focused service culture.

As accomplishments, he co-authored the international best seller book Customer Experience 5, received multiple international Awards including Top 25 CX Professional, Top 5 CX leader of the Year, CX Culture Award, CX Emerging Leader, CX Leader of the Year in Francophone Africa and Best CX Professional in Cameroon and on top of that was selected as a 2024 Mandela Washington Fellow.

He continues to serve the community in various capacity by partnering with local organizations and his government to train various stakeholders on Customer Experience, Customer Service and Servant Leadership.
